This local juice store changed my life.

Let me tell you about a local juice store that literally changed my life. Squeeze Juicery located on Elmwood & Main St. Williamsville has been a gem for some time now and I can’t thank them enough for everything they've done for me and the community.

They are a cold-pressed juicery, but more than just a place to come grab a juice, smoothie, or lunch. They are part of the journey in making Buffalo healthy, happy, fit and full of energy.

At Squeeze, they make feeding your body nutrient-dense food easy. I love the menu because they have an insane amount of juices, salads, ACAI/pity bowls, protein bars, wraps and more. Using organic ingredients and buying locally whenever possible with so much love!

If you read all about my SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) then you know I was a woman in a lot of (DAILY) pain with no answers. I knew juicing was great but I didn’t think about buying a juicer. I always heard how much work they were: messy and a pain to clean up.

When Squeeze opened up on Elmwood it was my saving grace. Finally a healthy, fast and convenient place right around the corner from me. I started to go every so often and then fell in love and started going every damn morning. It became a routine; wake up, brush my teeth, bundle up and take my morning walk. I started to get everyone hooked at my work. I was showing up with 17 orders to place. Most of the time I would call the night before and place my order for the morning.

Anytime I was heading out for a backpacking adventure I would do a cleanse beforehand. Anytime before I travel I give my body so much love because no matter what you're introducing your body to new air, bacteria, food and so on. Two years ago I got back from Cuba and needed to be by a bathroom at all times. I was literally shitting my brains out. Instead of going to the doctor, I just went to Squeeze. In three days, I was pooping normal and I was a human again. It pretty much happens to me anytime I travel, but at least now I know how to heal myself organically.

After I started reading all about celery juice from The Medical Medium, I asked Maureen, the owner of Squeeze, if she could start to have it daily for me. It started off with her pre-making small batches but now has a ton of fresh 'Straight Up' celery juice daily for everyone. I mostly make it at home these days but nothing makes me go to the bathroom like Squeeze celery juice. I don’t know what they do to it but damn, I feel amazing after!

What is it about celery juice that makes it so healthy? Celery juice contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, electrolytes, minerals and water. Have you heard of the compounds apigenin & luteolin? I’m guessing you haven’t but celery juice contains both of them. Apigenin and luteolin reduce inflammation and can help treat a range of inflammatory diseases. Research has shown that apigenin has numerous molecular targets involved in reducing inflammation to help overcome diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Autoimmune disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and various types of cancers. Luteolin can halt the growth of some types of cancer cells and may also prevent cancer cells from invading other areas of the body. Say what??? Mind Blown. Can you see why I do it every morning?!

Maureen has witnessed my health journey from the beginning. I always tell her she helped make this happen. During the pandemic they closed up shop for a little bit and donated so much juice to front line workers. It seemed like every day. I can’t thank Squeeze enough for what they have done for me and the community.

I tell my story in hopes it inspires others to begin or continue with their healing process. We are in this town together. Let's continue to share our knowledge on life, health, and fitness, and spread some local love. Buffalo Strong!
